Digitalization of Maintenance with RFID and Cloud. Sensors, R&D.
Alstom. United Kingdom
Implementation of an asset identification system based on radio frequency identification (RFID) for high-speed trains, enabling automatic and precise vehicle recognition as they enter an area in the maintenance workshop. End-to-end product management, from concept and strategy to delivery and customer management.
Streamlining Asset Recognition
This project enhanced maintenance efficiency through precise and automated asset identification. By affixing RFID tags to high-speed trains and installing trackside sensors within the maintenance facility, the system instantly recognizes each passing train and its configuration and sends the data to a central repository on the Cloud. This innovative solution provides real-time, accurate identification, which is fundamental for optimising maintenance schedules, inventory management, and overall operational workflows.
