Development of an AI and computer vision-powered automated system, leveraging trackside sensing devices, imaging units, and laser technology, for real-time inspection of high-speed train wheels. End-to-end Product Management.

AI for data capture

This project focused on automating the diagnostic assessment of high-speed train wheels within maintenance facilities. Deployment of an advanced array of trackside cameras, lasers, and precise positioning sensors. As trains move over this setup, the system captures detailed wheel images. Utilizing artificial intelligence and sophisticated computer vision algorithms, the solution acquires these 3D images and shares them with a system to detect potential defects and wear, enhancing maintenance efficiency and safety protocols.

Comprehensive execution

As Product Manager, Danilo steered this project from initial conceptualization and strategic vision to full deployment. His responsibilities encompassed formulating the strategy and development roadmap, selecting and overseeing technology partners, leading the R&D and design teams, and managing the technical implementation. He also played a key role in the system’s construction, installation, operational launch, and client relationship management.
