Urban Mobility Project Brief
Graña y Montero Ferrovías awarded a contract to Alstom for the supply of 20 new trains for Line 1 of the Lima Metro, along with 19 additional cars to expand the existing fleet. Spanning 34 kilometers and 26 stations, Line 1 has experienced steady passenger growth since its opening in 2011. With the addition of these new six-car trains and the upgrade of current five-car trains to six-car configurations, transport capacity will significantly increase from 20,000 to 48,000 passengers per hour.
