Urban Mobility Project Brief
The Line 1 extension was awarded to a consortium led by Alstom, comprising Thales, Sofratesa, CIM, and TSO. The contract includes the supply of seventy new train cars, modernization of the signaling and electrical power systems, and the expansion of depots and maintenance facilities. These cars will enable longer trains, expanding from three to five cars, and increase the fleet from 20 to 26 units, each with a 1,000-passenger capacity.
